Known Issues & Architecture Limitations
Nivara 1.0.0-beta.4 is pre-release software evaluated under Stage 2 Invited Technical Beta. In accordance with Navavritti Foundation's radical institutional transparency, all documented technical tradeoffs and limitations are published below.
1. Privacy Mode Compatibility Tradeoffs
Strict Mode WebRTC Local IP Suppression
In Strict Mode, Nivara conceals local LAN IP addresses (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x) during ICE candidate gathering to prevent internal network topology profiling. On certain corporate networks with symmetric NAT that lack public STUN/TURN relays, WebRTC peer-to-peer video calls may experience connection delays.
Maximum Privacy Mode Disables 3D WebGL & Web Audio
To eliminate hardware GPU shader fingerprinting and audio oscillator timing attacks, Maximum Privacy Mode completely turns off WebGL and Web Audio APIs. Web applications requiring 3D canvas rendering (e.g. Google Earth, browser 3D games) will show fallback canvas warnings.
2. Platform Availability & OS Trust
Windows SmartScreen Reputation Notification
During Stage 2 Technical Beta, Windows Defender SmartScreen may display an informational "Unknown Publisher" prompt while global download volume builds reputation. Users can independently verify package integrity using the published SHA-256 hash and Minisign Ed25519 signature.
Desktop Scope (Mobile in Active R&D)
Stage 2 Beta is strictly scoped to Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon (ARM64), and Linux x64. Android (GeckoView) and iOS (WebKit) editions are in active engine integration and will be released in subsequent platform milestones.
